Basta is the common word for ‘School Bag’ in the Urdu language. PISE believes that without providing the basic tools, access to education is not possible; hence the underlying concept is simple and straight forward to empower young children by providing them with the tools of education ‘Basta’ (Bag). PISE with great efforts collected Bags fully equipped with stationery and learning materials, these bags were then distributed among children in a School for the Internally Displaced People (IDPs).
Basta Project was carried in four different phases each with an increased number of beneficiaries
Phase #1: We collected about 200 Bags in a period of 2 months, these bags along with stationery were distributed among children at IDP camp school in Bannu.
Phase #2: We collected 500 Bags, through numerous fundraising drives in universities around Pakistan and these Bags were distributed in a government school for girls.
Phase #3: We hit a staggering amount of 1000 Bags in just about a period of few weeks; these bags were then distributed along with numerous arts and craft activities at the IDP school, to boost up the mental health of children.
