Ehsam Ullah Baig is the co-founder and CEO of Pakistan Innovation Summit for Education-PISE, a youth led organization that promotes education in the far flung areas of Pakistan. He has established Libraries, Tech Centers, Women Entrepreneurship Centers and has worked with the local government to tackle climate crisis in Hunza, Northern Pakistan. Ehsam also designed a cross-cultural fellowship program for young and professionals from across Pakistan. He is an Australian Awards alumni. More so, in summer 2019, he participated in SRHR workshop with RISEUP in the USA. He has also attended University of Undergrounds Summer School on New York City. Currently, he is chairing E-rozgar, a tech program executed with the collaboration of Government of Gilgit-baltistan. Moreover, he is also initiating a project ‘Reestablishing Peace building in South Asia’ which aims to restore peace and promote dialogue.
Hasan Ali Shah has five years of experience in the non-profit sector. He has pursued a bachelors in Development Studies from Bahria University Islamabad. Also a post-graduate diploma in Entrepreneurship Development from Institute of Business Administration Karachi. While working as the Director Programs at Pakistan Innovation Summit for Education-PISE, he has worked for several projects related to youth development, education, culture and entrepreneurship. He further has experience as Development Practitioner on qualitative monitoring for UNICEF and Impact Assessment of prime minister’s Youth Skill Development Program for several groups including; Palladium, UNICEF and FINCON Services in Pakistan. Hasan is passionate about working towards Education, Social Entrepreneurship and Youth Empowerment. Moreover, Hassan is an independent consultant and has done post-graduate certification in project management from SZABIST. More so, He was a part of Pakistan delegation to China, whereby he learned poverty allevation, education Small and Medium Enterprises and Special Economic Zones in the context of China’s development.
Alamgir Jahangir Khan is an engineering graduate from GIK Institute with major in Mathematical Modelling. He is the co-founder of Pakistan Innovation Summit for Education and Director Innovation and Development.
Alamgir is currently working as a Business Fraud Analyst at i2c a leading US based FinTech Firm. He also runs his own tech consultancy titled GreyMatter Ventures, and has previously worked as Business Operations Lead for DEMO, a lead digital consultancy firm.
He is a Global Undergraduate Exchange Program alumna and a Salamti Peace Fellow.
Zeehan Alam has done MBA Finance from COMSATS Islamabad. At Pakistan Innovation Summit for Education-PISE, he is working as Director Finance and Technology Consultant. More so, he is working as Grants and Operations officer at Aga Khan Cultural Services Pakistan.
Zeeshan is also a graphic designer at ‘Your Imagination, My Design’ and is the co-founder and Chief Brand Manager of GreyMatter Ventures.
Afifa Javed is a peace builder, development sector practitioner with special interest in conflict resolution and countering extremism. Afifa is currently working as Program Manager with Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness (SFEA)for a transnational campaign for peace called Peace Without Borders – Pakistan (PWB)that focuses on building counter narrative (peace narrative) in Pakistan. Her work bridges gap between communities within Pakistan through message of peace and inclusivity by shedding barriers created by prejudice, stereotypes and extremism. Afifa is closely working with religious seminaries and thereby trying to sensitize the youth there on the subject of tolerance, peace and CVE.
Afifa is also an alumna of International Visitors Leadership Program (US-2017) named ‘Strengthening Civil Society’. She has volunteered for over 10,000 people in Pakistan through various community engagement programs since 2010. Afifa carries major interests in the subjects like peacebuilding, countering/preventing violent extremism, and women in peace and security. She perfectly evolves community-based solutions to hatred and extremism while impeccably utilizing her international exposure and experience on CVE.
As an educationist and social activist, Ms. Natasha Mehmood is a dedicated, resourceful and goal-driven professional educator with a solid commitment to the social and academic growth and development of every child. She has been in the education sector for almost six years now and works passionately on the MDGs to achieve the EFA (Education For All) and quality education target. She has shown grave concerns about the 22.8 million OOSC (Out of School Children) and works to support the government and social sector in providing the basic constitutional right of every child.
Her work experience in a global school chain in UAE as an educator provides the team of PISE great insight into the global learning practices that the schools and teachers in Pakistan lack. She is committed to providing teacher training in both government and private organizations in Pakistan to help create a classroom atmosphere that is stimulating and encouraging to students so that all children can be successful learners. Subsequently she quotes the American education philosopher John Dewey, “Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.”
Zainab Sohail is an Alpine Ski Racer from Hunza, Pakistan. She represented Pakistan at the Asian Winter Olympics held at Sapporo, Japan. She also conducts volleyball and football camps for girls in Hunza during summers.
She is serving as the Director Publications at Pakistan Innovation Summit for Education-PISE. She is particularly interested in eliminating gender inequality in sports, digital security and design thinking.
She is a Pak-US exchange alumna under the KL-YES exchange program.
Farheen has done Bachelors of English from National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad. She is serving at Pakistan Innovation Summit for Education as a Research Associate.
She has particular interest in youth advocacy and empowerment and aims to avail and create opportunities for the betterment of remote communities.
She is an alumna of Global Undergraduate Exchange Program and Study of the United States Institute. More so, she has represented Pakistan at the Commonwealth Youth Dialogue Conference on Resilience and Peace-building held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Abdul Najeeb is an entrepreneur who has found and manages his multiple startups under the parent company “Ibex Ventures”. He has previously served as Regional General Manager in a multinational telecom company called “OPPO”. Serving his role as Director Entrepreneurship Pakistan Innovation Summit for Education-PISE, he is playing a vital role in social and economic projects in Gilgit-Baltistan and across Pakistan.
Amna Batool is currently a PhD student at School of Information, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She has done her Masters in Computer Science from Information Technology University (ITU), Lahore and her undergrad is from Government College University (GCU), Lahore in Electrical Engineering. Being a technologist, her research interest is Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICTD) particularly in Maternal and Child Health (MCH). She has been working with Punjab public health sector and Punjab Information Technology Board for eight years in deploying technologies in MCH sector. Currently she is working on digitizing the immunization system of Punjab and identifying better techniques for monitoring cell to improve immunization coverage in Punjab. She has been awarded with gold medals and roll of honor for her outstanding performance both in her Undergrad and Masters. She was also awarded with Fulbright scholarship from 2019 cohort for her PhD. To date she has published 18 research papers in peer reviewed international conferences. She has been a part of organizing committee for International Design and Development Summit (IDDS) since 2016. She was the lead organizer for 9th International conference on ICTD which was held in Lahore, Pakistan. She was the lead researcher for a South Asian study conducted by Google UX team on women participation in technologies in south Asian region. She was the technical and research lead for multiples grants awarded by Gates and Melinda foundation, National Academy of Sciences and Department for International Development. Amna serves PISE as an advisor.
Javed Karim serves as the admin officer at Pakistan Innovation Summit for Education. He has done MBA-Finance.
Previously he has worked with NEWS agencies like Pamir Times. He has also worked in Aga Khan Development Network. More so, he is an entrepreneur.
Imran Ali a student of International relations from Karakorum International University, is serving as the Event Manager for Pakistan Innovation Summit for Education. Imran has also been engaged with Ministry of Tourism and Culture at National Youth Assembly Gilgit-Baltistan.
Imran is also the President of the Society of International Affairs at KIU, and KIU Adventure Club. Along with travel and adventure lover Imran spends most of his time in youth development activities and initiatives. With a long history of conferences and events, Imran bags years of experience in the youth development domain and is highly excited to join team PISE.
